Last Friday … of August

Thank God It’s Friday! Woooosaaaaah! Feels like singing that “Oh, hot diggity dog ziggity boom what you do to me” song for Friday… lol. Did this week just seem longest or what ? *sigh of Friday is finally here relief*

Hmmmm … so dreamy!

Random Thoughts

Ever gotten to that point where you’re not really afraid of failing, because you know that with every fail comes a lesson learnt. When you look at it that way, you get more optimistic with life. Even when it seems a bit difficult, it gets easier to handle. Then you can laugh about it later and correct yourself, see where you went wrong and the changes you can make, to make it right.

I’m Feeling

Like I gorrit *read got it*

This Weekend

Birthday’s, bumming, random plans, family … friends, party, no books just yet maybe a novel am trying to get through, quite interesting I must say. I was gifted by mum, “Fascinating Woman – Helen Andelin”, she sure wants me to become one fascinating woman, if I ain’t one already…jeez! I might just choke on my own saliva as I gloat.

I’m Craving

Some pants I saw today. Apparently, they are called “Floral Jacquard Pants” Eerrrm! Who comes up with this names? But I sure want me one of those. Remember when I said I want “African Print Shorts and a boyfriend blazer”, I got them, will put up the pics pretty soon :-)

Songs of the Week

You’ve got to love this boy band. I am so feeling their current single.

*sings at the top of my voice* … It’s like a million dollar phone that you just can’t ring. I reach out trying to love but I feel nothing. Yeah, my heart is numb. But with youuuuu, I feel again. Yeah with youuuuu, I can feel again …

I Want and Pray

For peace, love and light in our country. How the world would light up if we all loved each other and lived in peace. It’s just sad how we struggle and strive to build our nations and it all comes crashing down at the slightest touch (it could be from any corner, politics, economics, social structures)

Quote Of The Week

This could just be the source of all these demonstrations and clashes in Kenya. I mean, they are being done by individuals right? Prayers right now is the only way.

To an awesome weekend, to having fun, living, laughing and loving. Stay Safe. XO!

Friday’s Here

Thank God It’s Friday! How we get excited about 3 day weekends, but after that, the suffering we experience to adapt to the coming weekdays. That’s how the week has been and now we’re on the weekend zone again…and no, am totally not complaining. If anything am all happy chaos and giddy smiles.

Random Thoughts

You can be so happy at one point and so sad at another. That you tend to forget how happy feels when you are sad, or how sad feels when you are happy. It’s just amazing how emotions are easily triggered by the slightest form of action. Even when you try to guard yourself from them, it’s almost always impossible that you just find yourself imbalanced. Controlling them is more than gift otherwise they can get you rocketing off every other time.

I’m Feeling

Comme ci, Comme ça. Hope the day brightens up as it comes along.

This Weekend

A lot of bumming and a lil bit of shopping.

I’m Craving

Some haribo’s could brighten me up *just saying*

This is sugar and everything yummy :-)

Songs of the Week

Jason Mraz always gets me with his music. How I hadn’t heard of this one. So who has his album and feels like sharing his album with me? * piracy…lol* and Jeez! He’s totally changed his look huh!

I Want and Pray

For more understanding and loads of wisdom in life and it’s happenings. Things happen and you are left, “O_O what just happened?” or “How did I just get here?”or “*insert other surprise questions?*”. While if you were more understanding of yourself and of others and y’all had a little more wisdom, you wouldn’t be there or those questions would have solutions.

Quote Of The Week

Yeah, you’re all this and more people. So don’t think of yourself any less.

To an awesome weekend, to having fun, living, laughing and loving. Stay Safe. XO!

Foggy Friday

Thank God It’s Friday! Booya! And it’s going to be another long weekend. It doesn’t get any better but the weather maen, so grey and gloomy it needs to get with the program. Looks like mother nature didn’t get the memo…lol. Now we have to plan with the weather, lest you go camping and it starts raining…not cool!

Rooftop at lunch time

Random Thoughts

That we are sometimes pushed to the limits by God so that he can just show us that the impossible is very possible. Maybe it’s his way of telling us that we need to be believe and push on. Just maybe, I don’t know. I wish I had a supporting bible verse for that. If Philippians 4:13 is anything to go by I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

LOL moments, just when I am about to finish my fave meal (Ugali, beef and greens), my greens what we better call ‘sukuma wiki’ and what you probably call kales formed this shape. So I had to clear it up and take a pic…hahaha

I’m Feeling

Like time is just dragging itself and this has been happening between 11:00am and 12:00pm, is there something am missing?

This Weekend

Well, so much! We have 3 weekend days, it’s what we always yearn for. Happy Eid-ul Fitr guys.

I’m Craving

Confused cravings. Am in between carrot cake, some yummy nyama choma with Ugali, frozen yoghurt or Strawberry shake, chilling out with friends, new shoes, handbag, get-a-way … lol very confused and it gets more complex every time I think about it.

Songs of the Week

If I was told to choose a band to join right now, I would be so torn between the many boy bands…lol. How come I hadn’t heard this one from one of my fave bands …

And now I’m feeling stupid, feeling stupid, crawling back to you / So I cross my heartand I hope to die / That I’ll only stay with you one more night… “

I Want and Pray

I want the best for my friends and family and I pray for the same too. Sometimes we are so engrossed in our own lives that we think everyone else is doing alright and probably they really aren’t and they need you. Not necessarily being physically there even some moral support in form of checking up and prayer e.t.c. We are all going through something no matter how big or small and it only feels better when there’s someone to lean on.

Quote Of The Week

To an awesome LONG weekend, to having fun, living, laughing and loving. Stay Safe. XO!

You know the quotes we hate are those that clearly outlay our weaknesses to rest of the world. You feel like it’s literally undressing you and you just want to cover yourself up because it’s a tad bit embarrassing. I mean in front of all my mates??? That’s just uncool. So you just read through the quote and pass by it like it didn’t exist. Worse, if you read it and decide to analyse it and it’s there throwing daggers at you, like you, ‘yeah, you ain’t got that or you ain’t doing that right’…cringe!

Do you have any of those? Here is one of mine,

“Sometimes you put walls up not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to break them down.”

Am not one to show people I need them, although I actually do am human…lol so in most cases, most if not all of my friends don’t also show me that they need me. Am thinking it’s a sort of ‘I do you, you do me’ kind of thing. Every time I see that quote up there, this fact always hits me hard. I don’t go breaking people’s walls, because I don’t know how to insist on things, on people or anything that makes me look like am desperate for attention. If I try once and you put me off, am the kind that goes back to my shell. So in the same spirit, I put up my walls and don’t really expect anyone to break them.

#ihatethisquote because it puts a spotlight on my awkward trait. It also acts as my opener, it makes me think of this other side of me that I mostly avoid.  Like one of those things I haven’t managed to do yet and am still working at doing it. I can bet that’s the reason we hate some quotes. That in as much as they inspire you, you haven’t been able to apply it or you know you’re far away from getting there. You even find yourself asking if the people who share these quotes even do that? guilty as charged. There are so many things I say here, that I don’t do, but I have figured out that they are the key to many other things and I aspire to do them some day if not now. I guess so is the case of the quotists .

Hey, but there’s hope people. I still love me my quotes and hate me some. Just because I hate some quotes, doesn’t mean that I won’t try. After all it’s all about trying, failing then starting all over again. You just never know.

Happens to be Thursday, that day if you have forgotten to be thankful and truthful throughout the week, it gives you a chance. Good day good people’s.

Super Friday

Thank God It’s Friday! Whoop! Whoop! Whoever makes this meme’s, a hero lies in them…lol. Thank God I don’t work on Saturday’s no more, so I can gladly pull the “Yayyy! Friday” up until school starts.

Random Thoughts

Today I have a couple:
  • All is well with the world, when all is well with you. So it all starts from within to without and not vice versa #MyThought
  • There’s nothing new under the sun. Most of the things we go through, we think, we visualize, we feel … other people have gone through. Just that they probably haven’t publicized it. But credit goes to those who publicize it.
  • Take risks. You’re youngBreatheGet hurtLive. What’s life if you’re not living? Go outsideThrow a rockGet bitten by a bugFall in love. Buy shoes. At this age, we’re invincible.

David Rudisha, greatest 800 metres runner of all time with a world record in taking victory in the Olympic final in London.

  • A BIG congratulations to David Rudisha for winning the 800m race, olympic winner and record holder, how cool is that. And for Timothy Kimut, at his tender age managing to bag a medal, that’s just super. We’re proud of you, at least I am.

I’m Feeling

This Weekend

Hi Randomness, I’m Kawiria. Nice to meet you :-)

I’m Craving

One of those days I just don’t know. Like, “I can’t quite put my finger to it” kind of crave.

Songs of the Week

Feeling hous’y hous’y today. So this mix is quite the banger. Plus, I just learnt how to pronounce Avicii…it’s ‘Avichii’ and not ‘Avishii’ for those of us who were trying to be more English than the English men *points to self*

I Want and Pray

I want to see more smiles and more happy faces. In that case, I pray for God to work his way in our lives. Sometimes we think we’re doing it all on our own, but we don’t know what goes on in the background and the number of resources God has to put to use for you to be where and who you are today. So let’s not forget to say thank you!

201,082 Thanks

Since I want my ego pampered sometimes, okay. who am I kidding, like all the time. I know am not the best bloggist,  for lack of a better word, just avoiding writer … and shamelessly promoting myself from blogger to bloggist. You’ve got to do this things for yourself you know, I mean, who will? And the question I love to ask *rhetorical though* is what brings you back to read what I publish? Those 201,082 site visits, it could be one person always coming back, I just wonder what brings you back? And for that reason, that one person or 1,000 people who come to check what I’ve shared…a HUGE thanks, from the bottom of my heart :-)

If I didn’t have anything to say thank you for today, at least I have 201,082 thanks to say. However, am very fortunate to have the 201, 082 as an addition to the many other blessings in my life. So basically, all my thanks goes to God for making everything possible, for without him, none of these would make sense. At least he makes them <the people in my life, the achievements, the failures, the events, the outcomes and all the good and bad that comes with all these > all make so much sense.

To more publishing, to sharing of thoughts and opinions… to more sunshine in your lives through me *wink*. I think am one of the few girls who has problems with remembering very important dates, yes! So I put on reminders if it’s a slaughter me situation or keep getting mild heart attacks of whether the day has passed. But for mum, dad and sister, their birthdays and their wedding anniversary (strange enough) are super glued to my mind. Thank God by sheer coincidence Mr.Man’s birthday is on the same day as mine.

So I take advantage of such moments to celebrate since I probably missed my blogversary or not. Too lazy to go and confirm.

It’s Thursday, that day if you have forgotten to be thankful and truthful throughout the week, it gives you a chance. Enjoy the evening lovelies!

Like Olympics, Like Life

August is one of those months that I don’t really have feelings for, if you know what I mean. But am thinking it’s about time I embraced it for no reason at all, just because. I think for starters it has the most awkward name in all the months names…don’t you think so?

When I was a kid my friend told me to be saying when I was younger..difference?, Olympics was the only sports thing that could keep me glued to the TV, just that I had to wait so long before the next one. All other sports were boring, unless Wrestling of course (WWF). I was always looking forward to seeing the determination and focus on the participants faces every 4 years round. Yeah there was eye candy *slurp* but for me it was about how much confidence they had in themselves to be able to represent their countries in the Olympics. This is like *insert population of your country* looking up to you and expecting you not to let them down and by this I mean, get a gold or silver and at the very least (which people won’t appreciate so much) a bronze. If not, you’re basically just another citizen who hasn’t done much, but spent money going for Olympics … us guys can be such mean souls.

However, if there’s one thing that I was common to most of the participants of the Olympics in all the two or three years I’ve managed to watch it, is the desire they have to win and their face of focus and determination combined with the effort they put in. And after they win, their heart of gratitude. It’s just amazing, I think that’s my sole reason for loving Olympics. The feelings as so real, yes I can feel it through the telly! I mean sometimes you even feel like sharing that greatest joy with them.

Bits and pieces of the races I watched…

Michael Phelps

Well, am not unpatriotic but this guy must’ve put massive efforts to be a reigning champ in the Olympics…when does he retire again? lol We need our Dunford’s topping the charts. But really this guys determination can just be seen by the look of his face. He know’s what he’s up for and he’s going for nothing less.

Shelly-Ann Fraser – 100m

When they were doing the introduction bit, to be honest…I was on team Nigeria, that Nigeria woman had exuded some Uasin Bolt stunts during the heats…lol then came the finals and Fraser, was like flash O_O but the thing about her was focus, focus for the finish line. By the way when she was completing the race, she didn’t even know she’s won until she saw her name on the board. *Hands Down*

Kemboi – 3000m Steeplechase

Yikes! This guy has an adrenaline rush from *who knows where*, after racing a 3000m steeplechase, when everyone is down, he’s up and doing the Kemboi jig. Looks like he always knows what he wants. I just love how he shows his gratitude. First after making the race look like a breeze, he goes ahead and makes you feel like rejoicing with him.

Sandra Perkovic – Discus

Sandra Perkovic threw a  Croatian national record of 69.11m to win the Olympic women’s Discus title. Can you spot the difference, now both looks are winner looks. The first one she doesn’t really care how you think she looks, she puts in all the effort her body can generate, then after she wins she can now look all pretty. And she sure does biting that gold medal.

Greg Rutherford, Jessica Ennis and Mo Farah

“It’s one of those races,” said Farah, the 5,000m world champion. “I saw the result, I didn’t see the race. If these guys are running that, I should be able to run a much faster time. These are the guys that I compete with week in, week out. It gives me good confidence as an athlete. It makes me think if they can run that I can run faster.” Source

Rudisha (Kenya), Uasin Bolt (Jamaica)

Last but not least, our two record breakers! Uasin just did his 9.63, new record. After setting one last Olympics at 9.58. Just crossing fingers for Rudisha tonight on his 800m and this is what he had to say:

“In this championship I don’t look at the record. It is a medal that I want. Once I get the medal, toward the end of the season I can think about the record.” – Source

Now, all these Olympics vibes and how it relates to life. Of course I (we) know that only a very tini-tiny percentage of us will get to take part in Olympics everrrr *hope the emphasis is felt* but you know, the life we live is already more like it. It’s like a big huge stadium and you’re in the heptathlon now that I learnt what it is on the weekend, don’t judge race (basically where you take part in seven different track races e.t.c). We are all aiming for the best, we always want to be succeed in almost everything we lay our hands on. True or false?

Well, it’s all dependent on the determination, effort and focus we put in whatever we do. Otherwise, if you don’t aim for the best (the gold), you’ll get silver (something less) or bronze (lesser) and at worse just be an average human being just living and aiming for nothing in particular. The best thing with life unlike Olympics, is that it doesn’t limit us to just one gold for everyone, the gold comes in many forms and there’s as much gold as one can get.

Olympics happens once in four years, life happens everyday. So in everything you do, do it with determination, effort and focus. See results and not the race. With that, as you run the race it’ll have more meaning, more like a means to the end. And chances are that you’ll succeed in that which you’ve set yourself to.
